The principal task of Domodedovo Jet Service is to ensure uninterrupted and safe fueling of aircraft with high-quality aviation fuel in compliance with the international standards using modern equipment and technologies. The enterprise acquires, stores, prepares, exercises quality control, and fuels aircraft with aviation fuels and special liquids.
Domodedovo Jet Service currently operates:
- A fuel warehouse (aviation fuel enters the warehouse via a fuel delivery pipe, as well as by railway);
- Two reservoir parks used to store and prepare aviation fuel prior to feeding it to aircraft. The overall capacity of the park is 14 above-ground reservoirs able to contain 50,000 cubic meters of fuel;
- An oil cargo pier used to receive fuel delivered by railway that is able to service 22 cisterns simultaneously;
- A separate elevated railway track to receive and fill the reservoirs with special liquids, aviation oils, automotive fuels and oils, using special pumps;
- Two pumping stations to ensure timely reception of aviation fuel from railway cisterns that are used to pump aviation fuel into the centralized aircraft fueling system (CAFS);
- An oil station that disburses high quality oils to oil fuellers;
- A highly technological laboratory that performs an entire spectrum of required aviation fuel analyses at the time of its arrival, as well as during its storage, and preparation for fuelling;
- A centralized aircraft fuelling system and a park of fuelling vehicles;
- A pumping station to maintain permanent pressure within the CAFS. The water-separation and filtration equipment installed within the pumping station ensures high purity of the fuel in compliance with the API norms;
- A two-pipe fuel distribution system on the ramp and at the aircraft parking lot to ensure uninterrupted fueling of aircraft;
- Western-made mobile fueling machines (some of which are equipped with elevating platforms) that are able to fuel all types of domestic and foreign-made aircraft in compliance with given parameters, such as the amount and pressure of fuel, additional filtration and mixing of fuel with a special liquid that prevents water condensate from crystallizing;
- Computerized fuellers’ refueling stations equipped with filtration and water-separation devices, as well as anti-crystallization liquid dozers.
Domodedovo International Airport is one of the very few airports in Russia equipped with a central aircraft fuelling system which enables it to fully automate the aircraft refueling process. The airport’s aircraft parking lots are equipped with a hydrant refueling system. The CAFS capacity is 900 cubic meters per hour, and the capacity of the reservoir park is 34,000 cubic meters.
At present, the Domodedovo airport complex utilizes Russian-made jet fuels TS-1 and RT that are certified to be used on aircraft equipped with engines manufactured by Pratt&Whitney and General Electric.
