If for some reason you have missed your connecting flight you will need to have your ticket rebooked with the airline whose flight you have missed. If, however, both your flights are on the same ticket and you missed your connecting flight due to delayed arrival the air carrier that issued your ticket should be responsible for issuing you with a new ticket and offering you hotel accommodation, if necessary, at its own expense. If you travel on two different tickets and you have missed your connecting flight (even if this should happen through the fault of the air carrier that brought you to the transit airport) the airline whose flight you have missed has the right to deny you service on the existing ticket and ask that you pay a penalty for changing your ticket for a later departure time or date.
